wedding guest books

A wedding guest book should be creative, as it will be a keepsake that will reflect that important day. Unfortunately, many couples don’t pay any attention to this memento and at the end of the day they remain with plain white pages filled with signatures. Make the guest book an item that will always remind of the wedding by personalizing it with photos and coordinating it with the wedding’s style. Think of this book as one that would look good on a coffee table and would have many memories to convey, rather than one that would find its place in a box and would never arouse the attention.

The first idea would be to make a photo book, one in which guests can write a few words under the pictures. A guest book should transmit some feelings, should bring back memories and should be something that helps you never forget the important details of your wedding. Gather photos with you and your spouse and leave some blank pages in the book, in case some guests want to write more. Order the pictures chronologically, displaying first those from your childhood, then some made during the period when you were dating and end with photos from your engagement. The final pages should be left blank, as you probably want to include many pictures from the wedding as well. Print the photos in black and white and choose ink in a color from your wedding’s color theme. You can include also pictures taken during the months before the wedding, when you were involved in many planning activities and also pictures with the reception’s place as it was before decoration and a wedding invitation.

Scrapbooks fall in the category of unique wedding guest book ideas. Add a card to each invitation, asking guests to bring at the wedding a photo with them and the bride and groom. Photos from holidays and social outings are perfect and can be added to the scrapbook when the guests arrive, together with some meaningful words that reflect the relationship between them and the new couple.

Another idea would be to place a card on each guest’s plate. Ask the guests to write their thoughts, advice or congratulations on it and to sign the card. Children can draw pictures and so you will have some visual art included in the guest book as well. Assemble the cards at home, adding some pictures from the wedding reception in the last pages of this memento.
